Breathability

When most of us think of wool, we think of bundling up when the temperature drops. While merino wool will act like insulation around your feet during the colder months, it will also feel up to two times cooler than synthetic fabrics when things heat up. Merino wool is capable of absorbing 25% more moisture than synthetic fabrics. In fact, merino wool can absorb up to 35% of its own body weight in moisture. This helps keep your feet dry, which in turn prevents the build-up of sweat, bacteria and unpleasant smells. When washed, the material will release any of the odor that it was clinging onto.

More on that here.

You might be thinking, “Wow. Merino wool sounds like the ideal material for footwear. Why aren’t more shoes made out of it?” The simple answer is because it is hard. But fear not. We have mastered a technique that uses a single thread of this magic material to knit a beautiful, breathable shoe that you can wear all year round.
